Washington, D.C. (September 27, 2013) - Leaders of the Hindu American Foundation (HAF) congratulated Judge Sri Srinivasan on his appointment to the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. Judge Srinivasan's appointment by President Obama this summer made him the highest ranking official in the judiciary adhering to the Hindu faith. Yesterday, Judge Srinivasan took his oath of office at his public investiture on the Bhagavad Gita, a Hindu sacred scripture.
"We at the Foundation congratulate Judge Srinivasan whose appointment recognizes his distinguished service, perseverance and great intellect," said Suhag Shukla, Esq., HAF Executive Director and Legal Counsel. "Hindu ideals of righteous, or dharmic action, justice, and pluralism are American ideals, and we know Judge Srinivasan will serve with distinction."
