The legend has that the Vijayanagara Emperor King Krishna Devaraya was on his expedition arrived on this sacred land and he was completely mesmerized at the tranquility of this place. The King and his men were put a halt to their journey in this place. On that night the King had a dream in that a saintly person appeared before him and revealed the presence of idols of Lord Srinivasa buried on this sacred land. On the very next day the excavation processes were begun under the strict inspection of king’s men, a stunning idol of Lord Srinivasa was found. The King offered generous acres of land and magnificent temple was raised for the worship of Lord Srinivasa.
This temple remains open from 6.00 AM to 12.00 PM in the morning and 4.00 PM to 8.30 PM in the evenings.
