Lord Ardhnarishwar, Form of Shiva Parvati
Ardhnarishwar is the word which make us feel proud that we are Hindu. Perhaps in no other religion except Hindu religion the women are accepted as the God or Goddess. In Hindu religion the women are accepted as the creator, manager, ultimately taking this universe to an end. In this regard we named our God as Ardhnarishwar means that the God has half body as man and half as woman.

The Sadha Shiva who is the Sakar Roop of God in Hindu religion is having an Ardhnarishwaroop only. The Sakar Roop means that the Roop which the God took when decided to become visible. Roop means the shape or face or beauty.
The Lord Shiva is also seen in the Shivling which again has the woman part in the base of the Shiv Ling and the Ling part is the male part. In the Ardhnarishwar Roop the Lord Shiv is seen as the Shiv & Shivaand in the Ardhnarishwar Roop the God Brahma who is given the responsibility to create the universe is also seen in the Ardhnarishwar Roop with Devi Saraswati. Similarly the God Vishnu who is given the duty to run the universe have the Devi Laxmi in the Ardhnarishwar Roop and the God Rudhar who is the Roop of Lord Shiv is given the duty of ending the universe has Devi Parvati in the Ardhnarishwar Roop.
Ardhnarishwar means God in form of Half Male & Half Female.Ardhanareeswara represents Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati as one. When lord Shiva half body is a compilation of his wife Parvati then this incarnation of thelord is called Ardhnarishwar. The male body is holding dumroo & trishul with snake in his neck.
Lord Shiva as the Ardhnariswar represents the existence of duality of men and women in us, the prime cause of creation. It symbolizes that the union of man and woman leads to creation.
The manifestation of Shiva in his Ardhanarisvara form is the perception of the unity of conflicting elements. Here Lord Shiva, as Sadashiva, Adishiva or Adipurusha, manifests in his being the composite character of existence. It also evidences that the two sets of diverse elements are only superfluous and are actually only one.This statue belongs to Hindu (religion) God shiva.
According to hindu mythology :- God Ardhanarishwara is a combination of the three words 'Ardha', 'Nari' and 'Ishwara' means 'half', 'woman' and 'lord' receptively, which when combined means the lord whose half is woman. It is believed that the God is Shiva and the woman part is his consort Goddess Parvati or Shakti. The Ardhanarishwara represents a constructive and generative power. There is a legend about the Ardhanarishwara form of God.

Arthanāreeswarā temple is an ancient Hindu temple, located in Tiruchengode, in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The temple is dedicated to Arthanāreeswarā, the unique half-male half-female of Lord Shiva. It is perhaps the only temple in Asia where this rare form of the Divine is enshrined as the principal deity. The deity here is also known as Mādhorubāgan and Ammaiyappan (mother-father). The famous Chenkottu Velavar Temple, dedicated to Lord Murugan, is also situated on the same hill.
Another name for the Arthanāreeswara Temple is Thirukodimāda Chenkundrūr (திருக்கொடிமாடச்செங்குன்றூர்).
