astrairastrāṇi yō hanyāt
ṡakrasyāpi mahātmanaḥ ।
sō'yamurvyāṃ hataḥ ṡētē
mahārhaṡayanōcitaḥ ॥
He, who could strike down the Astras
of even the mighty Ṡakra with his Astras
and who deserves a luxuriant bed,
lies on the bare ground, struck down.

rākṣasānāṃ vibhīṣaṇaḥ ।
tacca mithyāpralaptaṃ mām
pradhakṣyati na saṃṡayaḥ ॥
My failure to make Vibheeshaṇa the king of Rākshasas
makes my words to be an empty boast
and it will burn me out, without a doubt.

rāvaṇō'bhidravēdbalī. ॥
You should go back this very hour, O Sugreeva!
Rāvaṇa, in his strength, might chase you, O King,
once he knows that I am not there with you.

taking the army led by Aṅgada
and all the kin with you.

I am pleased with the exploits
of the king of bears and
the lord of cow-tailed Vānaras,
which are simply impossible for others.

anyaiṡca haribhiryuddham
madarthē tyaktajīvitaiḥ ।
na cātikramituṃ ṡakyam
daivaṃ sugrīvamānuṣaiḥ ॥
Gavaya, Gavāksha , Ṡarabha, Gaja
and many other Vānaras fought,
prepared to throw away their lives for my sake.
No effort of humans, O Sugreeva,
can negate what the destiny wills.

You did everything that
a friend and well-wisher and one
who fears offending Dharma can do
O Sugreeva, Scorcher of the foe.

anujñātā mayā sarvē
yathēṣṭaṃ gantumarhatha ॥
O you, bulls among Vānaras!
You did all that could be expected of allies.
You now have my consent
to go wherever you please!

Hearing him lament thus, all the Vānaras
shedded tears from their honey-colored eyes.

ājagāma gadāpāṇi
stvaritō yatra rāghavaḥ ॥
Meanwhile, having deployed
all the forces in proper formations,
Vibheeshaṇa, armed with a mace,
hastened back to where Rāghava was.

தம் த்ருஷ்ட்வா த்வரிதம் யாந்தம்
நீலாஞ்ஜநசயோபமம் ।

taṃ dṛṣṭvā tvaritaṃ yāntam
nīlāñjanacayōpamam ।
vānarā dudruvuḥ sarvē
manyamānāstu rāvaṇim ॥
Seeing him, who looked
like a mound of black collyrium,
coming in such haste,
the Vānaras ran helter-skelter,
thinking that he is the son of Rāvaṇa.
This Ṡlōka seems to be out of place here as Vibheeshaṇa had already calmed down the panicking Vānaras, and steadied the forces.
இத்யார்ஷே வால்மீகீயே
ஸ்ரீமத்ராமாயணே ஆதிகாவ்யே
யுத்தகாண்டே ஏகோநபஞ்சாஸ: ஸர்க:॥
ityārṣē vālmīkīyē
ṡrīmadrāmāyaṇē ādikāvyē

Thus concludes the forty ninth Sarga
