    Yuddha Kaanda Sarga 46

    Yuddha Kaanda - Sarga 46
In this Sarga, Vibheeshaṇa and all the Vānaras feel extremely sad and weep, seeing Rāma and Lakshmaṇa lie motionless in the battle field and streams of blood flowing from their bodies.
They look in every direction in the sky but fail to trace Indrajit. Only Vibheeshaṇa, with his own magical powers, is able to spot him. Indrajit announces to the Rākshasas that Rāma and Lakshmaṇa are dead. He also strikes the Vānara captains with his arrows before leaving for Lanka.
Sugreeva is gripped with fear. Vibheeshaṇa consoles him saying that those who are invested in truth and Dharma shall not fear death. He urges him to instill confidence in the Vānara army. He asks him to attend to the first order of business, which is to take care of Rāma and Lakshmaṇa till they regain consciousness.
Meanwhile, Indrajit goes to Rāvaṇa and tells him that Rāma and Lakshmaṇa are slain. Rāvaṇa springs up in joy. With all his worries put to rest, he heaps praise on his son.

Looking up and down is typical for monkeys.

Sighing like serpents, their movements feeble if any,
their bodies wet with streams of blood,
those two Veeras lay on the battle field
hardly able to move their limbs and
surrounded by the captains of their army
whose eyes were turbid with tears.
