When Lakshmaṇa saw Rāma, a bull among men,
fallen at an arrow-shot distance,
a pall of gloom settled over him.
These two Ṡlōkas, which suggest that Lakshmaṇa was not struck down like Rāma was, seem to be from an alternate version. The Ṡlōkas that we have seen hither to, and from the Ṡlōkas we are going to see in the next couple of Sargas, suggest that both Rāma and Lakshmaṇa were struck down by Indrajit.
