கதநம் யஸ்ய புத்ரேண

gadgadasyaiva putrō'nyō
guruputraḥ ṡatakratōḥ ।
kadanaṃ yasya putrēṇa
kṛtamēkēna rakṣasām ॥
Then there is (Dhūmra) another son of Gadgada too.
Then there is (Kēsari) the son of the preceptor (Bṛihaspati)
of the one who performed one hundred Yajñas (Indra).
It was his son (Hanumān) who worked havoc
among the Rākshasas, single-handed.

Then there is the Dharmātma Sushēṇa,
the valorous son of Yama, O King!
And then there is the good
Vānara Dadhimukha, son of Sōma.

mṛtyurvānararūpēṇa

Sumukha, Durmukha and the Vānara Vēgadarsi
are for sure death created by the Self-Emergent
in the semblance of Vānaras.

anilasya ca putrō'tra
hanumāniti viṡrutaḥ ॥
Then there is Neela, the Commander-in-Chief,
the son of the carrier of oblations (Agni).
And then there is the son of Vāyu,
well known in the world as Hanumān.

Then there is the strong, young and
invincible Aṅgada, the grandson of Ṡakra.
Then there is the strong duo of
Mainda and Dwivida, born of the Aṡwins.

And then there are the five sons of Vaivaswata,
Gaja, Gavāksha, Gavaya, Ṡarabha and Gandhamādana,
who are comparable to Yama,
the annihilator of time itself.

ṡūrāṇāṃ yuddhakāṅkṣiṇām ।
ṡrīmatāṃ dēvaputrāṇām
ṡēṣaṃ nākhyātumutsahē ॥
There are ten crores of
these blessed sons of the Dēvas,
who are valiant and eager for battle;
what more can I say?

There is no one on the face of the earth
who is comparable to Rāma in prowess.
He, by whom Virādha and Kabandha were slain, is like Yama.

naraḥ kaṡcid guṇān kṣitau ।
janasthānagatā yēna
yāvantā rākṣasā hatāḥ ॥
There is none on earth who can recount
the virtues and abilities of Rāma,
by whom were slain all the Rākshasas in Janasthāna.

மாதங்காநாமிவர்ஷப: ।

lakṣmaṇaṡcātra dharmātmā
mātaṅgānāmivarṣabhaḥ ।
yasya bāṇapathaṃ prāpya
na jīvēdapi vāsavaḥ ॥
And then there is the Dharmātma Lakshmaṇa,
who is like a bull among elephants;
Vāsava himself would not be able to escape with
his life if he were the target of his arrow.

And then there are Ṡwēta and Jyōtirmukha,
born to the Sun-god himself;
and the Vānara Hēmakūṭa, another son of Varuṇa.

நல: ப்லவகஸத்தம: ।

nalaḥ plavagasattamaḥ ।
vikrāntō balavānatra
vasuputraḥ sa durdharaḥ ॥
And then there is the valiant Nala,
the eminent Vānara, son of Viṡwakarma,
and Durdhara, son of Vasu,
of great prowess and strength.

ராக்ஷஸாநாம் வரிஷ்டஸ்ச
தவ ப்ராதா விபீஷண: ।

rākṣasānāṃ variṣṭhaṡca
tava bhrātā vibhīṣaṇaḥ ।
parigṛhya purīṃ laṅkām
rāghavasya hitē rataḥ ॥
And then there is that foremost among Rākshasas,
your brother Vibheeshaṇa,
who having obtained the city of Laṅkā,
is keen on promoting the interest of Rāghava.

இதி ஸர்வம் ஸமாக்யாதம்
தவேதம் வாநரம் பலம் ।

tavēdaṃ vānaraṃ balam ।
suvēlē'dhiṣṭhitaṃ ṡailē
ṡēṣakāryē bhavān gatiḥ ॥
And now I have told you all about this
Vānara army that occupies the mountain Suvēla.
