Kishkindha Kaanda - Sarga 62
In this Sarga, Sampāti narrates to Aṅgada what the Maharshi Niṡākara told him - that he foresees Rāvaṇa abducting Seetā, Vānaras coming as the messengers of Rāma and that Sampāti should tell them about Seetā.

4.62.1 ஈ ஏவமுக்த்வா முநிஸ்ரேஷ்டம்
அருதம் ப்ருஸ து:கித: ।
அத த்யாத்வா முஹூர்தம் து
பகவாநிதமப்ரவீத் ॥
ēvamuktvā muniṡrēṣṭham
arudaṃ bhṛṡa duḥkhitaḥ ।
atha dhyātvā muhūrtaṃ tu
bhagavānidamabravīt ॥
Saying this to that eminent Muni,
I wept feeling extremely sad.
Then, the Bhagawan thought for a while
and said these words:

4.62.2 ஈ பக்ஷௌ ச தே ப்ரபக்ஷௌ ச
புநரந்யௌபவிஷ்யத: ।
சக்ஷுஷீ சைவ ப்ராணாஸ்ச
விக்ரமஸ்ச பலம் ச தே ॥
pakṣau ca tē prapakṣau ca
punaranyaubhaviṣyataḥ ।
cakṣuṣī caiva prāṇāṡca
vikramaṡca balaṃ ca tē ॥
You will get new wings and feathers again.
You will also recover your eyesight, vigor and strength.

4.62.3 ஈ புராணே ஸுமஹத்கார்யம்
பவிஷ்யம் ஹி மயா ஸ்ருதம் ।
த்ருஷ்டம் மே தபஸா சைவ
ஸ்ருத்வா ச விதிதம் மம ॥
purāṇē sumahatkāryam
bhaviṣyaṃ hi mayā ṡrutaṃ ।
dṛṣṭaṃ mē tapasā caiva
ṡrutvā ca viditaṃ mama ॥
Some time back I heard that
something of great significance
will unfold in the future.
I saw the same with my yogic power too.

கஸ்சிதிக்ஷ்வாகுவர்தந: ।
தஸ்ய புத்ரோ மஹாதேஜா
ராமோநாம பவிஷ்யதி ॥
rājā daṡarathō nāma
kaṡcidikṣvākuvardhanaḥ ।
tasya putrō mahātējā
rāmōnāma bhaviṣyati ॥
There will be a king by name Daṡaratha,
who would advance the Ikshwāku dynasty.
He will have a son of great power by name Rāma.

4.62.5 ஈ அரண்யம் ச ஸஹ ப்ராத்ரா
லக்ஷ்மணேந கமிஷ்யதி ।
அஸ்மிந்நர்தே நியுக்தஸ்ஸந்
பித்ரா ஸத்யபராக்ரம: ॥
araṇyaṃ ca saha bhrātrā
lakṣmaṇēna gamiṣyati ।
asminnarthē niyuktassan
pitrā satyaparākramaḥ ॥
He of infallible prowess,
at the command of his father,
will go to reside in the forest
along with his brother Lakshmaṇa.

4.62.6 ஈ நைருதோ ராவணோ நாம
தஸ்ய பார்யாம் ஹரிஷ்யதி ।
ராக்ஷஸேந்த்ரோ ஜநஸ்தாநே
அவத்யஸ்ஸுரதாநவை: ॥
naiṛtō rāvaṇō nāma
tasya bhāryāṃ hariṣyati ।
rākṣasēndrō janasthānē
avadhyassuradānavaiḥ ॥
A Rākshasa by name Rāvaṇa will
abduct his wife in Janasthāna.
He would be the king of Rākshasas,
unassailable even by the Devas or Dānavas.

4.62.7 ஈ ஸா ச காமை: ப்ரலோப்யந்தீ
பக்ஷ்யை:போஜ்யைஸ்ச மைதிலீ ।
நபோக்ஷ்யதி மஹாபாகா
து:கமக்நா யஸஸ்விநீ ॥
sā ca kāmaiḥ pralōbhyantī
bhakṣyaiḥbhōjyaiṡca maithilī ।
nabhōkṣyati mahābhāgā
duḥkhamagnā yaṡasvinī ॥
She, the princess of Mithila,
would be enticed by many a pleasure and food.
But that blessed one of great renown,
submerged in grief, would not enjoy any of them.

4.62.8 ஈ பரமாந்நம்ச வைதேஹ்யா
ஜ்ஞாத்வா தாஸ்யதி வாஸவ: ।
யதந்நமம்ருதப்ரக்யம்
ஸுராணாமபிதுர்லபம் ॥
paramānnaṃca vaidēhyā
jñātvā dāsyati vāsavaḥ ।
yadannamamṛtaprakhyam
surāṇāmapidurlabham ॥
Coming to know of this, Vāsava will send her
ultimate delicacies, the equals of nectar,
which is beyond the reach even of the Dēvas.

4.62.9 ஈ ததந்நம் மைதிலீப்ராப்ய
விஜ்ஞாயேந்த்ராதிதம்த்விதி ।
அக்ரமுத்ருத்ய ராமாய
பூதலே நிர்வபிஷ்யதி ॥
tadannaṃ maithilīprāpya
vijñāyēndrādidaṃtviti ।
agramudṛtya rāmāya
bhūtalē nirvapiṣyati ॥
Knowing that it had come from Indra,
she will set aside the first morsel
on the ground dedicating to Rāma:

லக்ஷ்மணோ வாऽபி தேவர: ।
தேவத்வம் கச்ச்தோர்வாபி
தயோரந்நமிதம்த்விதி ॥
yadi jīvati mē bhartā
lakṣmaṇō vā'pi dēvaraḥ ।
dēvatvaṃ gacchtōrvāpi
tayōrannamidaṃtviti ॥
This food must go to my husband
and my brother-in-law Lakshmaṇa
regardless of whether they are alive
or have ascended to heaven.

ராமதூதா: ப்லவம்கமா: ।
ஆக்யேயா ராம மஹிஷீ
த்வயா தேப்யோ விஹங்கம ॥
ēṣyanti prēṣitāstatra
rāmadūtāḥ plavaṃgamāḥ ।
ākhyēyā rāma mahiṣī
tvayā tēbhyō vihaṅgama ॥
Vānaras, dispatched as messengers
of Rāma, will arrive here.
O bird! You should tell them
about the queen of Rāma.

4.62.12 ஈ ஸர்வதா து ந கந்தவ்யம்
ஈத்ருஸ: க்வ கமிஷ்யஸி ।
தேஸகாலௌ ப்ரதீக்ஷஸ்வ
பக்ஷௌ த்வம் ப்ரதிபத்ஸ்யஸே ॥
sarvathā tu na gantavyam
īdṛṡaḥ kva gamiṣyasi ।
dēṡakālau pratīkṣasva
pakṣau tvaṃ pratipatsyasē ॥
You cannot go in this state
anywhere, and you shall not.
Wait for the right time,
and you will regain your wings.

4.62.13 ஈ உத்ஸஹேயமஹம் கர்தும்
அத்யைவ த்வாம் ஸபக்ஷகம் ।
இஹஸ்தஸ்த்வம் து லோகாநாம்
ஹிதம் கார்யம் கரிஷ்யஸி ॥
utsahēyamahaṃ kartum
adyaiva tvāṃ sapakṣakam ।
ihasthastvaṃ tu lōkānām
hitaṃ kāryaṃ kariṣyasi ॥
I could get your wings back right away,
but you would do good to the worlds
by staying right here.

தயோஸ்சந்ருபபுத்ரயோ: ।
ப்ராஹ்மணாநாம் குருணாம் ச
முநீநாம் வாஸவஸ்ய ச ॥
tvayā'pi khalu tatkāryam
tayōṡcanṛpaputrayōḥ ।
brāhmaṇānāṃ guruṇāṃ ca
munīnāṃ vāsavasya ca ॥
For, you too shall be part of
carrying out the object of the two princes,
Brāhmaṇas, revered Munis and Vāsava.

4.62.16 ஆ இச்சாம்யஹமபித்ரஷ்டும்
ப்ராதரௌ ராமலக்ஷ்மணௌ ।
நேச்சேசிரம் தாரயிதும்
ப்ராணாம்ஸ்த்யக்ஷ்யே கலேவரம் ।
மஹர்ஷி து ததப்ரவீதேவம்
த்ருஷ்டதத்வார்ததர்ஸந: ॥
icchāmyahamapidraṣṭum
bhrātarau rāmalakṣmaṇau ।
nēcchēciraṃ dhārayitum
prāṇāṃstyakṣyē kalēvaram ।
maharṣi tu tadabravīdēvam
dṛṣṭatatvārthadarṡanaḥ ॥
‘I too like to see the
brothers Rama and Lakshmana, but I
do not wish to hold on to life any longer,
I want to cast away this body’
said that Maharshi, who had realized
the nature and purpose (of the ultimate).
இத்யார்ஷே வால்மீகீயே
ஸ்ரீமத்ராமாயணே ஆதிகாவ்யே ।
கிஷ்கிந்தாகாண்டே த்விஷஷ்டிதம ஸ்ஸர்க:
ityārṣē vālmīkīyē
ṡrīmadrāmāyaṇē ādikāvyē ।
kiṣkindhākāṇḍē dviṣaṣṭitama ssarga:
Thus concludes the sixty second Sarga
in Kishkindhā Kāṇḍa of the glorious Rāmāyaṇa,
the first ever poem of humankind,
composed by Maharshi Vālmeeki.
