Kishkindha Kaanda - Sarga 39
In this Sarga, as Rāma embraces Sugreeva appreciating the value of his friendship, crores of crores of Vānaras descend from everywhere, led by their chiefs. They all report to Sugreeva, who in turn introduces them to Rāma. Sugreeva asks the chiefs of Vānaras to station their forces in the Vanas and mountains so that Rāma can assess the total strength of the forces.

bāhubhyāṃ sampariṣvajya

Embracing Sugreeva, who thus spoke
with palms joined in reverence
Rāma, the foremost among the patrons of Dharma,
responded saying:

O scorcher of Foe! O gentle one!
There is no wonder in people like you
doing whatever is needed to please friends,
just as there is none in Indra raining showers,
the sun of thousand rays dispelling the darkness in sky
and the moon making the nights clear with his shine.

O gentle one! O Sugreeva! It is not at all
surprising to see such good attitude in you.
I knew that you always cared for (my) wellbeing.
4.39.5 த்வத்ஸநாத: ஸகே ஸங்க்யே

My friend! With you to take recourse in,
I can win over each and every foe in battle.
Only a good natured friend like you
can provide the help I need.

It is at his own peril that
the wretched Rakshasa abducted Vaidēhi,
just as Anuhlāda carried off Ṡaci,
the daughter of Pulōma, using trickery.

It would not be too long before I kill
Rāvaṇa with my sharp arrows, just
as Indra, the slayer of the foe did,
the conceited father of Powlōmi.

Meanwhile, dust arose everywhere,
subduing the intensity of the heat
from the thousand rayed sun in the sky.

The quarters, enveloped by that dust,
lost their whereabouts.
The entire earth shook along with
its mountains, Vanas and forests.

In a matter of minutes the earth was enveloped

coming from various rivers, mountains and oceans
and those that had Vanas and
the Mount Mēru for their dwellings,
that could take any form at will,
some glowing with the shine of the morning sun,

with that of lotus filaments.

shining with the gleam of lotus filaments,
his face resembling the young morning sun,
along with many thousands of Vānaras.
