4.37.20 ததஸ்தேऽஞ்ஜநஸங்காஸா
கிரேஸ்தஸ்மாந்மஹாஜவா: ।
திஸ்ர: கோட்ய: ப்லவங்காநாம்
நிர்யயுர்யத்ர ராகவ: ॥
tatastē'ñjanasaṅkāṡā
girēstasmānmahājavāḥ ।
tisraḥ kōṭyaḥ plavaṅgānām
niryayuryatra rāghavaḥ ॥
Three crores of them, of extreme speed,
who were as black as collyrium, then
started from that mountain, to where Rāghava was.
4.37.21 அஸ்தம் கச்சதி யத்ரார்க:
தஸ்மிந்கிரிவரே ரதா: ।
ஸந்தப்த ஹேமவர்ணாபா:
தஸ்மாத்கோட்யோ தஸ ச்யுதா: ॥
astaṃ gacchati yatrārkaḥ
tasmingirivarē ratāḥ ।
santapta hēmavarṇābhāḥ
tasmātkōṭyō daṡa cyutāḥ ॥
Ten crores of those who glowed with
the gleam of gold purified in fire
started from the best of the mountains
where the sun sets, which was their dwelling place.
4.37.22 கைலாஸஸிகரேப்யஸ்ச
ஸிம்ஹகேஸரவர்சஸாம் ।
தத: கோடிஸஹஸ்ராணி
வாநராணாம் ஸமாகமந் ॥
kailāsaṡikharēbhyaṡca
siṃhakēsaravarcasām ।
tataḥ kōṭisahasrāṇi
vānarāṇāṃ samāgaman ॥
A thousand crore Vānaras of the sheen of lion’s mane,
came together from the peaks of Kailāsa.
4.37.23 பலமூலேந ஜீவந்தோ
ஹிமவந்தமுபாஸ்ரிதா: ।
தேஷாம் கோடிஸஹஸ்ராணாம்
ஸஹஸ்ரம் ஸமவர்தத ॥
phalamūlēna jīvantō
himavantamupāṡritāḥ ।
tēṣāṃ kōṭisahasrāṇām
sahasraṃ samavartata ॥
A thousand of thousand cores who dwelt in the Himālayas
living on roots and fruits came along together.
4.37.24 அங்காரகஸமாநாநாம்
பீமாநாம் பீமகர்மணாம் ।
விந்த்யாத்வாநரகோடீநாம்
ஸஹஸ்ராண்யபதந்த்ருதம் ॥
aṅgārakasamānānām
bhīmānāṃ bhīmakarmaṇām ।
vindhyādvānarakōṭīnām
sahasrāṇyapatandrutam ॥
Those who were fierce like Mars
and were capable of magnificent deeds
came immediately, in their
thousands of crores, from the Vindhya mountain.
4.37.25 க்ஷீரோதவேலாநிலயா:
தமாலவநவாஸிந: ।
நாரிகேலாஸநாஸ்சைவ
தேஷாம் ஸங்க்யா ந வித்யதே ॥
kṣīrōdavēlānilayāḥ
tamālavanavāsinaḥ ।
nārikēlāṡanāṡcaiva
tēṣāṃ saṅkhyā na vidyatē ॥
Countless were the numbers that came from
the Tamāla Vanas and the beaches of the Milky Ocean,
who fed on coconuts.
4.37.26 வநேப்யோ கஹ்வரேப்யஸ்ச
ஸரித்ப்யஸ்ச மஹாபலா ।
ஆகச்சத்வாநரீ ஸேநா
பிபந்தீவ திவாகரம் ॥
vanēbhyō gahvarēbhyaṡca
saridbhyaṡca mahābalā ।
āgacchadvānarī sēnā
pibantīva divākaram ॥
An army of Vānaras of immense strength,
that seemed to engulf the sun
came along from Vanas, valleys and rivers.
4.37.27 யே து த்வரயிதும் யாதா
வாநராஸ்ஸர்வவாநராந் ।
தே வீரா ஹிமவச்சைலே
தத்ருஸுஸ்தம் மஹாத்ருமம் ॥
yē tu tvarayituṃ yātā
vānarāssarvavānarān ।
tē vīrā himavacchailē
dadṛṡustaṃ mahādrumam ॥
The Vānara Veeras who went to the Himālayas
to hasten up all the Vānaras there,
saw a magnificent tree there.
4.37.28 தஸ்மிந்கிரிவரே புண்யே
யஜ்ஞோ மாஹேஸ்வர: புரா ।
ஸர்வதேவமநஸ்தோஷோ
பபூவ ஸுமநோரம: ॥
tasmingirivarē puṇyē
yajñō māhēṡvaraḥ purā ।
sarvadēvamanastōṣō
babhūva sumanōramaḥ ॥
A Yajña dedicated to Mahēṡwara
that stole everyone’s heart and
that pleased all the Dēvas was
once performed on that great holy mountain.
4.37.29 அந்நநிஷ்யந்தஜாதாநி
மூலாநி ச பலாநி ச ।
அம்ருதாஸ்வாதகல்பாநி
தத்ருஸுஸ்தத்ர வாநரா: ॥
annaniṣyandajātāni
mūlāni ca phalāni ca ।
amṛtāsvādakalpāni
dadṛṡustatra vānarāḥ ॥
There the Vānaras saw roots and fruits
delicious like nectar,
that grew from the food that was splattered
(as part of performing the Yajña).
4.37.30 ததந்நஸம்பவம் திவ்யம்
பலமூலம் மநோஹரம் ।
ய: கஸ்சித்ஸக்ருதஸ்நாதி
மாஸம் பவதி தர்பித: ॥
tadannasambhavaṃ divyam
phalamūlaṃ manōharam ।
yaḥ kaṡcitsakṛdaṡnāti
māsaṃ bhavati tarpitaḥ ॥
He who has a single meal of the
fruits and roots that grew from that food,
is free from hunger for an entire month.
4.37.31 தாநி மூலாநி திவ்யாநி
பலாநி ச பலாஸநா: ।
ஔஷதாநி ச திவ்யாநி
ஜக்ருஹுர்ஹரியூதபா: ॥
tāni mūlāni divyāni
phalāni ca phalāṡanāḥ ।
auṣadhāni ca divyāni
jagṛhurhariyūthapāḥ ॥
It was on such divine roots and fruits and other herbs,
that the fruit-eating, eminent Vānaras fed on.
4.37.32 தஸ்மாச்ச யஜ்ஞாயதநாத்
புஷ்பாணி ஸுரபீணி ச ।
ஆநிந்யுர்வாநரா கத்வா
ஸுக்ரீவப்ரியகாரணாத் ॥
tasmācca yajñāyatanāt
puṣpāṇi surabhīṇi ca ।
āninyurvānarā gatvā
sugrīvapriyakāraṇāt ॥
The Vānaras who went there
brought fragrant flowers from the Yajña grounds
for the delectation of Sugriva.
4.37.33 தே து ஸர்வே ஹரிவரா:
ப்ருதிவ்யாம் ஸர்வவாநராந் ।
ஸஞ்சோதயித்வா த்வரிதம்
யூதாநாம் ஜக்முரக்ரத: ॥
tē tu sarvē harivarāḥ
pṛthivyāṃ sarvavānarān ।
sañcōdayitvā tvaritam
yūthānāṃ jagmuragrataḥ ॥
And all those great Vānaras,
after urging the Vānaras all over the earth,
returned quickly, ahead of them.
4.37.34 தே து தேந முஹூர்தேந
கபய: ஸீக்ர சாரிண: ।
கிஷ்கிந்தாம் த்வரயா ப்ராப்தா:
ஸுக்ரீவோ யத்ர வாநர: ॥
tē tu tēna muhūrtēna
kapayaḥ ṡīghra cāriṇaḥ ।
kiṣkindhāṃ tvarayā prāptāḥ
sugrīvō yatra vānaraḥ ॥
Those Vānaras of great speed, quickly
returned to Kishkindhā where
Sugreeva the Vānara was, at that Muhūrta.
4.37.35 தே க்ருஹீத்வௌஷதீஸ்ஸர்வா:
பலமூலம் ச வாநரா: ।
தம் ப்ரதிக்ராஹயாமாஸு:
வசநம் சேதமப்ருவந் ॥
tē gṛhītvauṣadhīssarvāḥ
phalamūlaṃ ca vānarāḥ ।
taṃ pratigrāhayāmāsuḥ
vacanaṃ cēdamabruvan ॥
Bringing along with them
the herbs, roots and fruits,
they said these words to Sugreeva
after giving them to him:
4.37.36 ஸர்வே பரிகதாஸ்ஸைலா:
ஸமுத்ராஸ்ச வநாநி ச ।
ப்ருதிவ்யாம் வாநராஸ்ஸர்வே
ஸாஸநாதுபயாந்தி தே ॥
sarvē parigatāṡṡailāḥ
samudrāṡca vanāni ca ।
pṛthivyāṃ vānarāssarvē
ṡāsanādupayānti tē ॥
We went to all mountains,
rivers and Vanas on this earth
and all the Vānaras will be
arriving, following your command.
4.37.37 ஏவம் ஸ்ருத்வா ததோ ஹ்ருஷ்ட:
ஸுக்ரீவ: ப்லவகாதிப: ।
ப்ரதிஜக்ராஹ ச ப்ரீத:
தேஷாம் ஸர்வமுபாயநம் ॥
ēvaṃ ṡrutvā tatō hṛṣṭaḥ
sugrīvaḥ plavagādhipaḥ ।
pratijagrāha ca prītaḥ
tēṣāṃ sarvamupāyanam ॥
Sugreeva, the lord of Vānaras
was very happy hearing those words.
Pleased, he accepted the gifts brought by them.
இத்யார்ஷே வால்மீகீயே
ஸ்ரீமத்ராமாயணே ஆதிகாவ்யே
கிஷ்கிந்தாகாண்டே ஸப்தத்ரிம்ஸஸ்ஸர்க: ॥
ityārṣē vālmīkīyē
ṡrīmadrāmāyaṇē ādikāvyē
kiṣkindhākāṇḍē saptatriṃṡassargaḥ ॥
Thus concludes the thirty seventh Sarga
in Kishkindhā Kāṇḍa of the glorious Rāmāyaṇa,
the first ever poem of humankind,
composed by Maharshi Vālmeeki.
