Sukla paksha Tritiya in the month of Chaitra is called Kalpadi Tritiya.
It is the starting day of a Brahma.
A day for Brahma is equal to 4,320,000,000 years.After that, it is night for Him.
During night of Brahma, there will be cosmic floods and it is the end of a cycle of creation. Again the cycle of creation will start.This starts on Kalpadi Tritiya.
It is auspicious to do tarpanam on this day.
