Aranya Kaanda - Sarga 54
In this Sarga, Seetā finds no one coming to her rescue. Right then, she sees five Vānaras on the top of a mountain. Immediately she drops her upper garment and her ornaments in their midst hoping that they might inform Rāma about her plight. Rāvaṇa, consumed by his excitement, does not notice what Seetā has done. However, the Vānaras notice Seetā crying.
Rāvaṇa flies past many mountains, rivers, lakes and finally the ocean, and reaches Laṅkā. He puts Seetā in his inner quarters and orders Rākshasis to guard and take care of her.
He then summons eight mighty strong Rākshasas and orders them to go to Janasthāna, keep a vigil on Rāma and inform him everything about Rāma to him while looking for every opportunity to kill him.
