Aranya Kaanda - Sarga 27
In this Sarga, seeing Khara ready to fight with Rāma, Triṡira pleads with Khara to give him a chance to fight with Rāma. Khara agrees.
The fight between Rāma and Triṡira is fierce like that between a lion and an elephant. At the end, Rāma slays the horses, strikes down the flag, kills the charioteer and finally cuts off the three heads of Triṡira with three sharp and swift arrows.
The few remaining attendants of Khara that were left flee away from Rāma, like deer from a lion. The outraged Khara pulls them back and rushes towards Rāma.
