Aranya Kaanda - Sarga 15

Modern tourism and commercial interests color our eyes; they make us think of forests only as a source of pleasure and as a source of wealth.
The more we are untouched by the modern commercial, material and consumption oriented culture, the more we can feel what Rāma felt; the holiness and sacredness automatically descend upon us.

This place is holy and sacred.
It abounds in deer and birds.
We shall live here, Sowmitri,
along with this bird (Jaṭāyu). Rāma says the place is holy and sacred. One has to go to pristine forests and see with pristine eyes to feel what he says.

Lakshmaṇa of immense strength,
destroyer of enemy forces,
quickly built an Āṡrama for his brother.

comely, beautiful and spacious
thatched cottage for Rāghava,
on a leveled ground on a raised mud platform,
with strong pillars and long bamboo beams
on which boughs of the Sami tree were laid
and securely fastened with ropes,
and covered densely with the
