Recently I read a booklet in Tamil by the Dravida Kazhagam on the above subject.
It is mentioned quoting the mantras during mangalya dharanam that the prohit says to the bride that after marriage she spends the first night with the Sun. second night with Indra and the third night with Agni and thereafter only from the fourth night she spends with her husband. the booklet calls this as an affront to woman's honour.
Pl qoute the mantras in Sanskrit and the verbatim translation. Also any commentary by religious scholars.
I am deeply hurt by the slanderous quotes in the book mentioned above.
