Seemantham after child birth

Is there a provision for performing Seemantham after delivery of the child if performing at the appropriate time is not possible for various reasons?
If permissible how should it be done?.

I don't know the procedure how it should be done, but heard it can be done on the day of 'prasava punyaham' aslo.
