I have a question to clarify Uthaka Shanthi Japam for Upanayanam.

1. Can the Uthaka Shanthi Japam be performed on the day of Upanayanam. If yes, How much time it will take to do it with cut short the Japam.

2. Can the Uthaka Shanthi Japam be performed on the previous day morning since it is maranaya Yogam on the previous day evening.

Udakasanthi Can be done any time (previous day morning or evening or same day morning) without checking Marana Yogam
Some times the muhurtha day itself may have "Marana Yogam" for a little time before muhurtham time.
Udakasanthi will take exactly one hour in normal speed.
Do not think cut short for Udakasanthi already it is an essence only.
