பெரியவர்களிடம் ஆசி பெறுவது எப்படி

பெரியவர்களிடம் ஆசி பெற சில விதிமுறைகளை தர்ம சாஸ்திரம் வகுத்துள்ளது.

* கடவுளை வணங்கிக் கொண்டிருப்பவர், தியானம், ஜபம் செய்பவர், தூங்கிக் கொண்டிருப்பவர், குழந்தையைக் கையில் வைத்துக் கொண்டிருப் பவர்களை நமஸ்காரம் செய்யக் கூடாது.



* கைகளில் அர்ச்சனைத் தட்டு, பூ ஆகியவற்றை வைத்துக் கொண்டு ஆசி பெறவோ, வணங்கவோ கூடாது.



* வயதில் மூத்தவர்கள் அமர்ந்திருக்கும் திசையை நோக்கி கால்களை நீட்டி நமஸ்காரம் செய்யக்கூடாது.



* சூரியன் இருக்கும் திசையில் கால்களை நீட்டிக் கொண்டு நமஸ்காரம் செய்யக் கூடாது. ஏனெனில், சூரிய மண்டலத்தில் அனைத்து தெய்வங்களும் இருக்கிறார்கள்.



* உறவினர் இறந்ததற்காக துக்கம் அனுஷ்டிக்கும் நாட்களில் யாரையும் நமஸ்காரம்



செய்யக்கூடாது. பிறரால் செய்யப்படும் நமஸ்காரத்தை ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளவும் கூடாது.

Pranams to Sarva Shri Vaidyanatha Deekshidar. I am also from Nannilam
and have studied in Nannilam before seeking employment.
While we do prostration to the elders and by touching their feet
with shraddha, it is mentioned that we in turn receive the energy of
karuna or blessings from them. It is one way of expressing one's
gratitude to elders. One can also notice in Bhagavad Gita, that in
order to perform one's karma, one has to always respect elders,
God, etc and be humble in the deeds. That is why, everyone is taught
to respect the Guru. In the yester years, children were taught to
respect the teachers and express them thankfulness for their
contribution in one’s upcoming life.

While in the temple, one should not prostrate to the elderly people and should only say Namaskarangal.
One should not prostrate to a person, who is on the bed or wearing wet clothes.
One should not prostrate to a person who is observing Vruththi or Kshayam i.e. theettu.
One should not prostrate to a person who is younger to you and who does not possess the requisite Yogyadamsam.
While prostrating before the God, one should not chant Abivadhanam.
While prostrating to the Yathigal, Abivadhanam, should not be uttered.
While prostrating to elderly ladies, Abivadhanam should not be said.
While prostrating to a group of seniors or elders, Abivadhanam should not be said.
While prostrating to Shankaracharyas viz. Kanchi Sree Mutt, Sringeri Mutt, etc. Abivadhanam should not be said.
