    performing upanayanam in the tamil year vijaya varusham - sukra asthamanam

    Respected swamin,
    upanayanam is prohibited when there is sukra asthamanam during udhayam. In the next tamil new year vijaya is there is any sukra asthamanam which does not allow performing upanayana karma. Please elaborate.

      We are doing our Grand son's upanayanam in November 2013; Sasthrigal or Jothidar did not say anything and they only selected suitable Muhurtha Day for it.
