Sri:
The Makara shankaranthi is happening only at 5 pm
So, one can wait up to that time to put the pongal paanai.
Or
It can be done 2 pm to 3 pm which is a good time suggested by few panchnangams
as the punya kaalam starts few hours before the actual time.
