Some Random Thoughts on Prayer
Children always have a different view on any subject; the other day when my son in law asked my grandson Adithya to recite loudly, he simply replied’ it is enough if God hears his prayer’; are we learning a lesson here?
Prayer is a way of having a personal experience and intimate connection with our loving God, through which He listens silently to what we have in our mind. Sri Krishna says “If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, fruit or water, I will accept it.” A prayer is an application for some relief /favor only, even when one prays for the”Loka Samatha Sughino Bhavanthu” ( for the well being of every world) , one is asking God for some favor/relief only. Even ‘thanks giving’ comes only after receiving a favor/relief only.
