    Sustiapthapoorthi

    I have just completed my sixtieth year and entered into sixty one on 21st May2012. Would like to know what do Dharma Sastram says about Sustiapthapoorthi. I have attended lot of such functions, most of them are for celebration-sake. What is the underlying principle or meaning/purpose for celebration of such functions? What are the better way of celebration of such functions considering the busy world we live where most of us have no time to spare and think about cause/reason behind every function?. Hope to get a convincing write up on this subject from vedic erudite seniors.
