जो पुरुष कर्म फल की इच्छा का त्याग कर सदैव शुभ कर्म करता रहता है, परोपकार ही जिसके जीवन का ध्येय है, वही सच्चा सन्यासी है। कर्मों का त्याग सन्यास नहीं, अपितु अशुभ कर्मों का त्याग सन्यास है। दुनियाँ का त्याग करना सन्यास नहीं है अपितु दुनियाँ के लिए त्याग करना यह अवश्य सन्यास है।
The person who renounces the desire of the fruits of action and always performs auspicious deeds, charity is the real purpose of life, whose life is the goal.He is the true hermit. Abandonment of actions is not a renunciation, but sacrifice sacrifice of inauspicious actions. Abandoning the world is not a retreat, but sacrifice for the world is definitely a retreat.
