Power of 'Govinda '
The name given to Sri Kṛṣiṇa by Indra the lord of Gokula
Govinda is one of the many names of Krishna, the incarnation of the Hindu god, Vishnu, in Vaishnavism and much of the pan-Hindu traditions. The name comes from the Sanskrit go, which means both "Veda” and “cow,” and vinda, meaning “finding” or “gaining.” Therefore, it translates as “finder of Veda” as well as “cow keeper.” The latter refers to Krishna's occupation as a youth in Gokula, a community of cow herders. He is often referred to as both Gopala ("child cow keeper") and Govinda.
GOVINDA also refers to 3rd incarnation of Vishnu among Dasavatar
Go - Bhoomi (earth) + Vinda (Lifted)
Aadi Varaha is the is Elasmotherium, which is ancestor of present day’s Rhinoceros.
This Avatar took place at the time of deluge ending the Padma kalpa and after restoration of earth, the next kalpa (the present one) was named after this avatar as ‘Sweta Varaha Kalpa‘.
Vishnu Sahasranama says
“Maha Varaho Govinda Sushena Kanaka Angadi”
It means “Multiplier of the Great Boar group’s golden progression”. Vishnu is hailed the multiplication of great Boar, who lifted the earth (Go (earth) + vinda (lifted) ).
In the Santi Parva of Mahabharata, Krishna says
All discourses on Ramayana, Mababharata, Vishnupurana conclude with the chant “Govineia¬nama sankeertanam”, to which the audience responds, “Govinda, Govinda” with full-throated fervour. One wonders at the relevance of Govinda¬nama in Srimad Ramayana, The reason is that our purvacharyas and elders declared that, by reciting Govinda-nama, one acquires the merits of meditating and reciting the ten Avataras of Lord Vishnu.
