Real Patriotism
Patriotism isn't shouting, "India, India..." during a cricket match. It isn't patriotism when you change your profile picture into the Indian flag for one day. Patriotism is when you love, respect & follow the Indian culture. When the Briti
sh tried to take over India, their greatest obstacle was our culture. Unless we lost faith in it, they could not overtake us. And that is exactly what they did. They attacked our culture right from the roots of education. That effect is prevalent even to this day among us. We feel ashamed to wear bhasma, gopi chandan, sri pada, etc. But muslims who are our fellow citizens have no hesitation in wearing their traditional symbols. We talk vaguely about our gods & scriptures so easily. But never have I seen a muslim abuse Allah or the Quran. Never! If there is something we need to learn from them, its the sense of unity & love towards culture. We are independent in the physical sense, but for true independence to be attained our minds must be independent as well. For that to happen, our culture must become our breath!
