    Food, sleep, fear and mating, these acts of humans are similar to animals' |
    Of them (humans), dharma (right conduct) is the only special thing, without dharma humans are also animals ||

        Re: Hithopadesa

        Here is another one not exactly from Hithopadesa, but valuable advise.

        If a fire, a loan, or an enemy continues to exist even to a small extent, it will grow again and again; so do not let any one of it continue to exist even to a small extent.

          Re: Hithopadesa

          This my favourite prayer verse from "Raghu vamasa mahakavya" of Poet Kalidasa. The meaning is loaded with high philosophy.

          --> I salute the parents of the world, Parvati and Parameswara, who are inseparable like the "vAk" (word) and "artha"(its meaning); to gain expertise in the right understanding of the words and their meanings.

              Knowledge gives Humility,
              Humility gives Character,
              from character one gets wealth,
              from wealth one gets righteousness,(dharma)in righteousness there is joy.
