நமஸ்காரம். என் மூன்று ப்ரஷ்னங்கள், தேவரீர் விளக்கிஅருள வேண்டுகிறேன்
- சிகை வைப்பதின் தாத்பர்யம் என்ன
- தற்போது க்ராப் செய்துக்கொண்டு நான்கு ஐந்து அங்குலம் பின்னால் சிகை விடுவது சாஸ்த்ர சம்பந்தம் இல்லை என்றாலும் க்ராப்பை விட ஸ்ரேஷ்டம் என்று ஊக்குவிக்கலாமா
- மேற்பட்ட சிறிய க்ராப் சிகையை முடிப்பது சுலபம் இல்லை, ஆனால் முடிக்காமல் அவிழ்ந்தபடி விடலாமா?

ஶ்ரீ:
சாஸ்த்ரப்படி குடுமி அவசியம் வைக்கவேண்டும்.
மற்றவற்றைப் போல் அல்லாமல், இந்த குடுமி வைப்பது என்பது ஒரு ஸம்ஸ்காரமாகவே
அவசியம் பண்ணவேண்டிய கர்மாவாகவே விதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
இதற்கு சௌள கர்மா என்றுபெயர்.
இதையே சூடா கர்மா என்ற பெயரில் பெண்களுக்கும் விதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

ப்ராஹ்மணர்கள் அனைவரும் வேத முதல்வனை தலைவனாக ஏற்றுக்கெர்ண்டவர்கள்.
குடுமி எப்பொழுது வைக்கப்படுகிறதோ, அது முதல்தான் ஒரு ப்ராஹ்மணன்
தெய்வத்தின் தொண்டனாக ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளப்படுகிறான்.

"பத்த சிக:" என்று கர்மா செய்யும் கர்த்தாவுக்கு "முடியப்பட்ட குடுமியுடன்" என்ற
சாஸ்த்ர விதி இருப்பதால், ஒருவனுக்கு யஜ்ஞோபவீதம் எவ்வளவு முக்கியமோ
அதே அளவிற்கு குடுமியும் முக்கியம்.
ஏனென்றால்,
மிகப்பெரிய அளவில் வேத மந்திரங்களுடன் ஹோமம், செய்து
குடுமி வைக்கும் கர்மா மிகச் சிறப்பாக வகுத்துக்கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

எப்படி வேத மந்திரத்துடன் போட்டு வைக்கப்பட்ட பூணலை புனிதமாகக் கருதி
அது, உடம்பைவிட்டு அகன்றுவிடாமல் பாதுகாக்கிறோமோ?!
(இன்றைக்கும் 75 சதவீதத்திற்கும் மேற்பட்ட ப்ராஹ்மணர்கள் பூணலுக்கு
பெண்கள் திருமாங்கல்யத்திற்கு கொடுக்கிற அளவிற்கு முக்கியத்துவமும் மரியாதையும் கொடுத்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள்.)
அதுபோலவே இந்த வேத மந்திரத்துடன், ஹோமம் செய்து வைக்கப்பட்ட சிகையை
அகற்றக்கூடாது.
உபநயனத்திற்குப் பிறகு மொட்டை அடித்துக்கொள்வதர்க வேண்டுதல்கூட செய்யக்கூடாது.
உச்சிக் குடுமி உசிதமில்லை, நம்மை நாமே சமாதானம் செய்துகொள்ளப் பயன்படும்.


Vedham is also indirectly insisting that "Kudumi" is required to do anushtanams.

here is that vedha vaakyam :
"....yathra baana: sampathanti kumaaraavishikaaivaa"
The baaNas (arrows) were fell down wastefully like the Argya theertham of
kumaaraas (boys) without shikaa"

Significance of śikhā in Hinduism
The śikhā reportedly signifies one-pointed (ekanta) focus on a
spiritual goal, and devotion to God. It is also a indication of
cleanliness, as well as personal sacrifice to God.

According to Smriti Shastras, it is mandatory for all Hindus to keep
śikhā[4] and the first three twice-born or dvija castes
(brahmins) to wear yajnopavita (sacred thread), also called janeu, pool
nool, or paita.

[5] It has been said that the śikhā allows God to pull one to
heaven, or at least from this material world of maya (illusion)[6][7],
but this in fact may stem from an Islamic superstition (see below under
'Similar hairstyles'), although as it reads in the Caitanya Caritamrita:

"While there was much roaring and crying at the Bhattathari community,
Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu grabbed Krishnadasa by the hair and took him
away."[8]
As Krishnadasa was a follower of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu (an incarnation
of the god Krishna[9]), he most likely would have kept the Vaishnava
śikhā hairstyle, so the idea of God using hair as a handle is
a Hindu concept too it seems.


Significance of śikhā in Vaishnavaism
Vaishnavism (Sanskrit: वैष्णव धर्म, IPA:
[ʋəiˈʂɳəʋə ˈd̪ʱərmə]) is a
tradition of Hinduism, distinguished from other schools by its worship
of Vishnu or his associated avatars, principally as Rama and Krishna ,
as the original and supreme God.[10] In appearance, Vaishnavas -
especially the monks - are usually easily recognizable by their
particular forehead markings (tilak) and śikhā.

I was told that during daily snanam the water that flow down the tip of shikai are offering to pitrus. I was not told the source of this thatparyam, but devarir can enlighten me if this is heard elsewhere.
I'll be blessed if you can also please explain why uchi kudumi is not acceptable. My grand father says only difference in uchi kudimi is the hair cut compared to full shavaram in case of regular shikai. He hence thinks uchi kudumi is not acceptable only because it is trimmed as opposed to regular shikai which is never trimmed.

Sri:
What you have told is correct.
Daily after snanam and before drying the hair,
the water should be drained from the hair front side for pitrus who are longing for that.
But, it can not be said as a main reason for tuft.
Tuft is the symbol of a slave or servant.
Here servant or kinkara of emperuman.
